Scar nodded and turned his attention to Vallion who had been takeing his time in walking over here. "If you don't mind me interupting, we should be headig out soon. We have a long way to go." Scar looked at the sun, which was just starting to rise over the hills. Scar nodded. "Go and tell Vernost we will be leaving soon." He ordered. "And you could be a little nicer. You really should take Sasha's advice." He joked.
--------------------------------
Vallion glared angrily at the two cats. "Vallion, isn't it a bit too early to start off in a mood like that? The morning should never start off sour." As she started to leave, he called after her. "Well I will stop being sour when you stop!" He turned back to Scar. "Yeah yeah yeah. You should start getting ready though. I would like to get there early, not in the middle of the night." He said. He trudged off angrily towards Vernost. He poked him with a paw. "Vernost, wake up. Scar wants to leave." He ordered, then turned away and sat down, waiting for his brother to start on his way home.

Sasha paused a bit as Vallion called after her and she couldn't help but laugh aloud. It was just a tad bit on the funny side that he was being grumpy. And how had she been sour? She'd been nice...enough. When she had drank her fill she stepped into the water. The running water flowed around her paws and she enjoyed the gentle pulling motion it caused. She waded deeper before diving under. The cold water was refreshing and it woke her up.
When she came up, she took in a long lungful of air and paddled around a bit before climbing her way back up onto the shore. She shook her fur clear of water and little droplets were flung out in all directions. She licked her lips a moment before returning to the shade. "Well, that was fun. I'm good to go." She enjoyed the sun shining down on her fur and she closed her eyes for a moment. Letting the sun warm her muscles and feeling the temperature go up a bit. She pawed at the sand that had stayed cool by the shade. She would miss it when the sun would scorch the sand in the middle of the day. But just like every day, it would cool down.
A thought just occurred to her. She had been allowed to sleep in the area. But before Vallion came over, Scar said 'we have a long way to go.' Was that 'we' including her? She didn't really think about if she was going along with Scar, Vallion, and Vernost or if she was parting somewhere along the road. Her journey to find a mate led her here, but she wasn't sure on what to do next.

Vallion growled quietly at Sasha. She had an attitude towards him, and he didn't like it. He looked over to the two cats. "Anytime now! We need to get going!" He yelled annoyed over his brother.
---------------------------------------------------
Scar stared at Vallion. He was in too much of a hurry. But Scar knew why. He couldn't help but feel the need to get back home. "Well, that was fun. I'm good to go." Scar smiled. A thought had crossed his mind and he wondered if it had crossed hers at all. Scar stumbled on what and how he should ask her, but was she planning on going back to their territory with them? "Um...Sasha, do you plan...on, uh... traveling with us... back to...uh...our territory?" He said, stumbling on his words. He kept his gaze on the ground until he had finnished his sentence. He hopes she would come with them, he was really starting to like her. "If you are, I would like to know." Scar said smileing. He had hoped Vallion wouldn't be too upset if she was comeing with them, but he didn't really care if Vallion would be. Right now, all he cared about was Sasha and if she would be traveling with them or not.

Sasha looked curiously at Scar who seemed quite nervous and she wondered why. But his question made her smile. "I'd love to come." She didn't mention that she had absolutely no where else to go. She glanced at Vallion. "Will he be okay with it?" He seemed to have taken a turn to not liking her. She didn't want to not be liked. She liked the feeling of belonging. Maybe he'd come around and be okay with her. Or she hoped anyways.
She looked back at Scar. "We should be on our way. And Vallion seems rearing to go." She watched Scar for a moment. She was liking Scar a lot. She just wanted to get along with everyone. It would make traveling a lot easier. Well, maybe along the road they'd all get to know each other. Maybe to the point they'd all get along. She wondered how Scar and Vallion would act to wards each other once she stepped into their territory. She would hope that they didn't fight. Or so, that they would become protective of their territory and banish her before she could even say a word. No matter who it was, most animals changed once they stepped on their territory. She just hoped this time it was different. She smiled at Scar.

Scar smiled happily at her reply. "I'd love to come. Will he be okay with it? Scar looked at Vallion. "Yeah, he will be fine. He gets antsy when we are away from our territory for too long." Scar explained.
"We should be on our way. And Vallion seems rearing to go." Scar nodded. "Yeah, we should get going." He said. He started to head in the dirrection the sun would be setting. He flciked his tail for Vallion and Vernost to fallow.
---------------------------------------------
Finally!Vallion thought to himself. He poked Vernost with his paw. "Come on, get up you big lug. We are leaving, and you are comeing with us." He said grumpily. He trotted after Scar. He fell into step with his brother. It felt just like old times, before Vernost and Sasha had come along. He matched Scar's pace, step for step. He looked back to see what Sasha and Vernost were doing. He had hoped to see Sasha jelous for not being able to be beside Scar, like he was currently. He gave her a triumphant look of winning Scar over for the time being.

Sasha waited until Vallion fell into step with Scar before pacing behind them. She didn't know the way to the territory so why be in the lead? If Scar or Vallion wished to talk with her, they'd call her forward. She was happy as her paws hit the ground with an even beat and her tail swung behind her. She looked up at the cloudless sky as they moved onward and wished for at least a little bit of cover. Or better yet, a desert rain! That would be wonderful. The feeling of the warm rain falling over her that was just the right temperature to keep her cool and to wet the ground enough from burning the pads of her paws. Not to mention, it'd lower the temperature in the air so it would be easier to breath rather than the suffocating heat. Yes, rain would be very welcome to fall right about now and keep falling until evening when the day started to cool down. And if it did rain, then the little critters would come out early rather than just at night and make it easy to get a little snack on the road. That would be fun too. But alas, she couldn't find a cloud.

OOC- Perry has given me permission to play Vernost until she gets back.
IC- Scar checked behind him to make sure Vernost and Sasha were comeing. Sasha looked as though she were day dreaming and he decided not to say anything to her. Vernost looked less confident however, he looked happy to be leaving though. He remembered that Vernost and Sasha hadn't really talked much since Sasha had joined them.
-------------------------------
Vernost traveled behind Sasha. He was walking slower than her. He was trying to decided whether or not to introduce himself though. As far as he was concerned, she was incharge of him. Or atleast, Scar was makeing it seem that way. He quietly stalked up beside her. He tried gathering up some courage. "I don't believe we have properly met yet. I am Vernost." He said politely. He didn't think Scar, nor Vallion, come to think of it would like it if he were rude to their guest. Well maybe Vallion wouldn't mind. He was starting to show some resentment toward the female. But, Vallion treated him the same way, so it wasn't anything personal, atleast he didn't think it was.

Sasha just barely noticed Scar looking back at her in the midst of her thinking before she was snapped out of her reverie by Vernost approaching her. She smiled. "Good morning, Vernost. I'm Sasha." Her pace evened out a bit more and enjoyed the morning air as she looked ahead again. Despite her looking forward, she still spoke to the cat beside her. "So how is it you came to meet Scar and Vallion?" She knew how her story went and she was interested on how he had wandered his way to this group as well.
Not to mention, a little story for the road never hurt anyone. It tended to help keep away boredom and Sasha had spent too much time with quiet and boredom to want it back just yet. She had liked talking with Scar, even Vallion although he seemed a bit tempered with her, and took the chance to talk with Vernost as well. Other lives' were so interesting to hear about, the different adventures and tales she usually could relate to and made her feel not so lonely. It gave her that sense of belonging that she had been looking for all this time.

Vernost was thinking back to what seemed like forever ago. He had remembered seeing Scar and Vallion atop a hill. He had been trudging on endlessly to find a place he could call home, as long as it was with someone else to tell him what to do. "I guess we just kind of found each other. I was looking for someone to let me stay with them. And I guess they were looking for someone to help keep an eye on their territory." He explained. He remembered the hot sand on his paws. Then, when they first got there, he remembered Scar pushing Vallion into the pond. He didn't say anything about it though. Vallion probably wouln't be very happy if he told her his most embaressing moment. Then again, every since she had came along, Vallion hadn't seemed to be in a good mood. Maybe it was because she was a female. A pretty one too. He turned to look away from Sasha. Neither of the brothers would be very happy with him if he was staring at her like he was ten seconds ago. He kept walking on, keeping his eyes on Scar and Vallion.

Sasha smiled. A place to belong. It had been what she was looking for, only a little different. He wanted to follow orders, she wanted companionship. Or that's what it sounded like he wanted. "Sounds interesting." The air felt awkward between them and she nodded to him politely before picking up her pace a bit till she was a foot behind Scar and slightly to the side that Vallion wasn't occupying. "Scar? So where is the territory. I may have passed by it before without knowing. God knows Ive been nearly everywhere." Her laugh was soft, but to her it really did honestly feel like she had travel over every foot of land there was. It was kind of irking to know that she had traveled so much to no avail until now. She kept her pace even behind Scar so she didn't lose distance with him but also didn't creep up too close to annoy Vallion. She had seen his triumphant look that he'd given her when he took his place at Scar's side. He was being ornery and she didn't mind. She had just met them. It would have been wrong to bump Vallion out of his place next to Scar. Being polite was the only way to go about it until Vallion was more comfortable with her presence.

Scar looked back at Sasha who had been calling his name. "Scar? So where is the territory. I may have passed by it before without knowing. God knows Ive been nearly everywhere." Scar looked ahead then at the sky. "It's about a two day walk away. It is a large plain. Depending on when you were there, the plains might have been filled with antelope gazelles, and other animals. There is a river running through it. And it has some forests." He accidently started daydreaming. He was remembering what it was like when he and Vallion were the only large cats there. They had a good time. Fighting off any rival males that had threatened them.
-------------------------------------------
Vallion had lightened up a bit. At his brother's discription of their territory, he start daydreaming too. "The hardest season is winter though. It's hot and there is little prey. Normally, we follow the wildebeest migration. Until they reach the river. Spring it the best time though. The land is all grassy and green. There is alot of prey." He loved his territory and would fight for it until the end, especially with Scar at his side.

Sasha looked between the two lions as one spoke after the other. She noticed the same look cloud their eyes when their territory was mentioned and realized the great love they held for their land. Well, it spoke true for the rest of the animals that claimed their land. If they didn't love it, they'd move on and let some rival take over their spot with no trouble. If they didn't love the home they protected, they'd find a different tree and patch of grass to call their own. But she still smiled at their response. And wondered if she should speak, knowing it'd interrupt the train of thoughts.
After a few moments however, she did speak. Her voice soft and smooth. "It is possible I have passed it, but as I was not looking at the land and the fact that I have been traveling for so long, I have lost track of where I am and which way is back. So if I had passed it, I would remember it when I see it, but I otherwise don't know where it is. I don't seem to remember where I've been until I see it again. One of my faults. But that's just me." She let a small sigh escape her. She hated pointing out any of her faults. It was demeaning and also showed her weakness. But she did it anyways.

Scar flicked Sasha soothingly. But that's just me." "Ahh, don't worry about it. Everyone forgets sometimes."
------------------------------------------
Vallion wondered how long it would take it the walked faster. Right now, they were walking at a very slow pace, and he hated it. Before Sasha had come up next to Scar, they had been fast walking basically. He tried to pick up his pace in an effort to get Scar to pick up his too. It work a little, but he was still not going fast enough. He was eager to get back home. Who knows what had happened there in their absence. Something horrible could have happened, and they would have to face it.

Sasha smiled at Scar. "Thanks." She noticed Vallion's pace alternating as if he was trying to push them faster. She realized Scar must have slowed down when he turned to talk to her. She could be extremely ornery and purposefully slow down her own steps while talking to Scar but figured it'd be more rude than anything and instead moved a bit faster. She looked down at her shadow which was starting to get a little smaller as the sun rose higher. She tried to make each step cover some part of her shadow. The movement distorted the ground and made it look like she was flying at a faster speed than she was jogging. But in reality she wasn't moving any faster than she was after she picked up her pace. With the ground moving passed her like it was, she took in a lung full of air happily and imagined herself flying. Normally Sasha didn't like heights too much. Up a tree was okay but she tried her best to stay away from really steep cliffs. But the thought of flying with wings like the birds sounded absolutely amazing. Just like a dream come true.

Scar noticed Vallion's pace change and realized that he had been going slower then he had been before he start talking to Sasha. He picked up his pace some, but not enough to match Vallion's. They still had a long journey ahead if them, and he would need his energy. He didn't know how many chances they would get to rest. He looked at the sun. It was just start to get to its highest point, and he was very hot. His shaggy mane didn't help keep him cool at all. He could tell Vallion felt the same way by slowing his pace and he was panting. What they really needed now was some shade and water. He and Vallion could easily dehydrate. But Scar had been traveling enough to know that if they paced themselves, they wouldn't dehydrate as quickly. He thought he could remember seeing a source of water on his was. They could stop there and take a few sips to refresh everyone back up. He could definatly use it. He looked behind him and he could tell Vernost felt the same as he and his brother. He was panting lightly too.
