The black stripes covering her body, soaked up the sun and was beginning to make her feel like her skin was being grilled. It was getting hot, but she refrained from panting. She could feel the moisture from her skin, wetting her fur in some places and make it look shiny, especially the black stripes. But she kept her head up as she looked at the other three panting males. She knew at this rate, walking to the end of the day without taking a rest, her posture would be drooping and her pace would slow considerably. But that was nothing to how Scar and Vallion and Vernost would feel. Scar and Vallion had heavy manes to trap in the heat. Sasha felt lucky that at least some of her fur would deflect the sunlight away from her. She sighed and looked down at her paws which were flicking forward with each step. This would be a very long journey. And her optimism was beginning to fade. It was too early for her energy to die down a bit and she knew that by evening she'd be cranky and would have to watch every word she said in order to make it appear she wasn't cranky at all. Fun, fun.

Vallion kept walking on. He ws bored out of his mind, tired, and hot. They hadn't gone to far but the temperature was still very hot. It was definatly taking its toll. He knew his brother felt the same way. They both had big shagy manes. And after a while, they did start to get heavy. Sasha was lucky. Her fur reflected the light and she didn't have to carry a big shaggy old mane around all the time. He looked up at the sun. It was nearing its highest point. And the hottest part of the day. He wondered how he and Scar had made it so far last time. It was so long ago, he couldn't remember. He looked down at his paws, which were now sicking steadily into the sand.
------------------------------------------------
Scar had taken the lead. His brother was lagging behind him. He wasn't too far away. Vernost was at the end. Sasha had left him to com up and talk to Scar. Scar was feeling dreadfully hot. It would only be a matter of time before the heat got the best of him, and Vallion. It would be a very long trip, he thought to himself.

The sun was getting really very bright as it was just about to peak in the sky. It was hurting her blue eyes so she closed them to block out the sun and just listened to the footsteps of the others in order to walk straight. Her breathing was starting to become uneven as she opened her mouth to breathe, panting. Her paws were sinking into the sand and it continued growing hotter. Soon, she'd be dancing somewhat in order to keep her feet off the sand for as long as possible.
She wondered how far they had been walking. If the sun was almost at it's high point, it would be somewhere close to afternoon. Scar had said that they wanted to reach the territory by night fall. That it would only take about that long. So, they really only had the rest of the day to walk. Part of her envied Scar and Vallion, for even though they had the heavy, heat trapping manes; they were also used to this kind of area. Lions were at home in the hot savannas. She had come from the tropical rain forests nearby a nice cold pool of blue water fed by a waterfall. The vegetation shielded her from most of the sun and even though the rain forest was hot, it was nothing compared to this in the direct sunlight. So she was out of place. But then again, she didn't have the mane. All had advantages and disadvantages here.
Boy, how she'd love to go for a swim.

The land was starting to look familiar to Scar. They weren't too far off. Only about two miles. He could tell Vallion knew where they were. He had instintly perked up. There was no hiding his joy. He would have liked to pick up the pace, but the sun was at its highest peak, and they would have heat stroke if they went any faster. He decided to keep up the same pace. Only a little father. He reminded himself. He didn't let his happiness show through too much, but his happily flicking tail revealed it all.
Seeing his surroundings, and Scar perk up some, Vallion knew they were almost home. Soon, the river would come up and they would have to follow it. Although it would veer away from them, once it started going in the opposite dirrection, they would start to walk towards the north eastern part of the territory. It was where Scar and Vallion had spent most of the nights while they were here. Luckily winter was ending and spring would be here. There would be alot of prey available soon. Enough prey for all four big cats.

Sasha peeked her eyes open and saw the two cats ahead of her perk up a bit. Scar's tail was flicking with anticipation and both lions were looking in a particular direction. She knew they must be close then for them to be showing this much excitement in this heat. She probably should show enthusiasm that their journey was coming to a end but it was just too hot. So she closed her eyes tiredly again and kept pace with the cats who were leading the little group. When she could smell water was when she'd be happy and perky again.
Sasha yawned widely, making a soft squeaking sound before her teeth clicked when she closed her mouth. Water and a quick cat nap would be absolute heaven right about now. A nice cool swim in the water, laying in the shallow area, drinking her fill, the company of others, and a sense of being home. Sure it wasn't her home. She wasn't sure on how long she'd be allowed to stay in Scar and Vallion's hospitality. But being somewhere for some amount of time instead of just staying the night and moving on was a big change. If she stayed in a place for more than a night she labeled it as a temporary home; for as long as she was permitted to stay.

OOC- I am going to forward ahead a little...
IC- Scar could see the sun just start to touch the hills. They had just arrived at the river. From here they would have to start walking more north eastern. He wanted to arrive at the dens before moon high, but if they kept walking throughout the night, they would make it there by sun high tomarrow most likely. Though there territory was small, it wasn't small enough that you could walk from one side to the other in a day. But it was good that they had finnaly reached the river. They could now get some water. They might also be able to rest for a few minutes. Or, they could spend the night here, and then leave by sun rise. If they were going to stay here, they would have to retreat to the shelter of a rock pile that wasn't too far away. Sleeping next to the river wasn't safe. It was lurking with crocodiles. And sometimes hippos. It was how the pride had lost cubs. "We can all stop and get a drink and rest up for a few minutes." He announced. "Be careful though, watch out for anything that is moving and don't all drink at the same time. There are crocodiles in the river." He warned. It would most likely be Vernost's and Sasha's first time here. He went to the river while Vallion was scanning the surface.
When he finnished he was keeping an eye on Sasha and Vernost while he was talking to Vallion. "We could stop and rest here for tonight. We could sleep over by the rock pile." He Scar whispered in a hushed tone. "We could continue on to the sleeping dens by sun rise." He suggested. Vallion nodded his agreement. Though there was multiple dens that Vallion and Scar had slept in, the one in the north eastern part of the land had been where they were born. They usually slept in it after the pride died. There were about ten dens in total. One on the northwestern, north, northeastern, east, southeastern, south, southwest, west, and then there was one right in the middle of the territory. It was surrounded by a small sparse forest.
OOC- I really felt like I was just babbling on in this post....

Sasha could smell the freshness of water before it came into view. As they approached she was itching to go dive in to cool the skin under her fur. But Scar's warning rang clear and she held herself off. She would wait until the three males had their fill of water before drinking some herself. If she was to be on their territory, it would be smart to follow hierarchy edicts. After all, she would be a guest. It was not her land. She had once had her own land that she shared with her mother while she was a cub. But she was banished from the territory when she was old enough to be on her own. Lions worked differently than tigers did. Lions stayed in their prides for life. Unless if the males fought, in which case the lesser male would be removed from the territory by force. But tiger's were solitary except when mating and raising young. After the female knew she had conceived a cub or two, she no longer needed the male and didn't allow him on her territory. From then she raised her cubs on her own and then shooed her cubs from the land after they were of age. It was and still is brutal. And Sasha herself never liked it. She hated to be alone. And for now she didn't have to be. That's all she could have asked for.
She stood gazing into the water, waiting for her turn to drink, thoughts still flowing.

Scar watched as Sasha got her drink. He flagged Vallion and Vernost onward. He wondered how well they would act. They hadn't seemed particularly thrilled with each other on the way back to the territory. He walked slowly towards Sasha. He stopped a feet feet away from her. "We are going to spend the night over at the rock pile. We can leave by sun rise. There is a certain nesting place Vallion and I like to sleep at." He informed her. Then a question came to his mind. Would she even stay with them on their land. He decided to wait and ask the question later, but he was eagerly waiting for a good moment.
Scar couldn't stand it anymore. He had to ask. "Are you going to stay with us here?" He asked eagerly. "You are more than welcome to." He said happily. He really wanted her to stay with them. She was a beautiful and magnificent cat. Anyone could see that, it was obvious. He looked eagerly to her for her response. He hoped alot that she would stay. He didn't think Vallion would mind. Especially if Scar had ordered it. His brother never disobeyed him. It was probably one of the reasons they were so close. They always had each other's backs. Whether is was a fight against another male, or a pack of hyenas. They had never been seperated.

Sasha drank slowly, letting the cool water flow down her throat and wetting her dry tongue and nose. The flush of cool water in her system helped her entire body cool down. It was refreshing, and exactly what she needed at the moment. When Scar came forward to inform her of their sleeping arrangements, she lifted her nose from the water to look at him. She nodded in acknowledgment and dipped back down to drink some more, but his next question surprised her. "Of course I'd love to stay." She looked back at him with a bright smile, happiness brightening her eyes.
A little feeling twinged at her as if a little piece of her that was still small and kitten like wanted to pounce and play happily that she had a place to stay. Not just for the night or a couple nights, but to actually stay at, like a home. But she suppressed that feeling in order to avoid looking like a fool and tipped her nose down in thanks to Scar. "You really are too kind for this. Thank you." Her words were sincere and she meant every one of them. This feeling of belonging seemed to just get greater and greater. She liked it.

Scar smiled and shook his head. "Not really. I just assumed that since you have traveled this far with us, you would want to stay here." He said happily. Excitement ran through his body. Sasha would be staying here, with them. This was exactly what he had wanted. He flicked his tail happily and followed his brother, and Vernost to the pile of rocks. He laid down beside his brother. Their manes touched lightly and Scar put his tail on top of Vallions. He noticed Vernost sleeping towards the bottom more. Scar looked at Sasha. "You can sleep up here if you like." He said happily.
He looked at the sky. The sun was infront of them now. Only half of it was showing now. It was turning the sky a pink color. He was going to stay up and watch the sun set. Usually, if he and Vallion had nothing planned for the next day, they would stay up to watch the sun set. It was a beautiful sight. They usually hunted and ate right before bed, but Scar saw no prey around. They might have to travel more just to find something to eat. But Scar wanted to stay up just long enough to watch the sun set.

Sasha followed Scar and looked around when they reached the rocks. Scar had called out to her and she looked to wards him, before making her way up to where he was and laid somewhat close to Scar. He was more open with her than the others and she felt more comfortable around him. More safe. If she was closer to Scar she was okay. But nearer Vallion or Vernost, she felt awkward almost. Then again, it was just Scar so far showing enthusiasm for her stay. She didn't even know how Vallion would react to her decision to stay. She knew that if it caused far too much trouble, she would excuse herself from the territory in order two spare the two leaders from a fight. They were brothers after all. She wasn't going to cause unease between them that wouldn't eventually settle. It would be sad to leave of course, but she couldn't bear being the cause of unease in the area. It would feel like the guilt was eating her insides out. If she had any brothers or sisters, she'd probably be close to them as well, or at least partially. Sasha knew her respects. If she wanted to stay, she'd have to play it safe.

OOC- If you don't mind, I am forwarding to the morning. I am introducing Nala kind of. But she isn't in here yet or anything.
IC- Vallion was the first one to awaken. He had a pretty decent sleep. He was excited about today though. They would be on their way to their favorite den. He hoped Nala would still be there. They had to leave her on her own while they went on their trip. Vallion knew she was stronge and smart, he didn't doubt it one moment, but she wasn't always known for liking to be by herself. It would be the first time he saw her in days. He carefully got up, trying hard not to disturb any of the cats yet. It wasn't quite time to leave yet. He would like to be able to see as he was walking. They would wait for the sun to just peak above the horizon before they set out. He wasn't paying any attention as he knocked a large stone out of its place. It crashed to the ground making a loud noise. He looked at Scar wondering how he would react.
---------------------------------------- Scar jumped up when he heard the large stone crash to the earth. He relaxed some as he realized it was just Vallion. He jumped down from the rock. He shook his mane and trotted on towards the river. "You guys should get one more drink before we leave." He yelled back to Sasha and Vernost, who at this time, was already up and washing himself. He got a drink as his brother watched the water. In turn, Scar did the same for him. He waited until Sasha and Vernost had gotten a drink. He wasn't going to leave until they did.

Sasha had slept lightly all night long, not truely falling into a deep sleep. The place was too unfamiliar to her, the smells were different as were the night sounds. And the constant feel of warmth radiating from Scar was different. Usually she was surrounded by cool night air. Sure, Sasha liked the warmth. It was quite pleasent. But it was still different.
The loud noises from Vallion bumping the rock caused her to jolt and lift her head into the air, looking around in surprise. She settled when she saw who it was and allowed her heart rate to slow down. She stood up and stretched her paws forward, arching her back as she yawned.
Then she made her way down from the rocks down to the water, tail flicking as she went. She dipped her nose into the water and took a short drink before backing up and sitting down and licking her paw, waiting for the others. She ran her rough tongue along the curve of a claw to clean it of the dirt. She kept her eyes closed as she washed herself clean to a smooth sheen.

Scar watched as Vernost and Sasha got their drinks. Once Sasha was done, he walked over to her. Ready to leave?" He asked. he hopes she was becuase he was and he knew that Vallion was too. Suddenly, he remembered hwy his brother muct be so happy. He must have been thinking about Nala. The two were in love, or atleast that is what he thought. they sure acted like it. He wondered whether or not he should tell Sasha. He didn't know how she thought about other females. Some females hated the same gender, and some were fine with it. But what if she left because of it. He would hate himself. But then, what would be the use of trying to hide that there is another female living on the territory? He got enough courage to tell her. "Just so you know, there is another female living with us." He informed her. His mind was clouding with thoughts that she would say that she was going to leave. "Is that ok? Her name is Nala." He said. He might as well just tell her everything that he knew about Nala, she would find out eventually.

Sasha yawned again and sat ready right as Scar came near. "I'm good to go." But at the mention of another female made her pause. A small spike of jealousy hit her. Who did this Nala belong to. But she took a breath and kept herself calm. There was no point getting worked up over it. It was one female. She blinked for a moment as she looked at Scar before speaking. "It's fine." She smiled. "If she will share land with me, I can be gracious to her. I'm sure we could be good friends." Scar and Vallion had opened up their home to her, she should be able to be kind about anything that remain on the land. There really wasn't much of a choice if she really did want to stay. And she did. She wasn't ready to give up the company she had found. She wasn't ready to be alone again. Sasha didn't even know if she would ever be ready. She would try her best to befriend Nala, whatever it took.
