Lovizna walked into the land of the Summer Oasis. At the moment, the whole place seemed to be exactly the opposite. The ground around the great pond was barren and desolate. Not a single living thing was around. The entire ground was dusted with frost and snow. It didn't look like much of a paradise at all.
In the center of all of this was the anti-oasis itself. The water was completly surrounded around the outside with a thin sheet of ice. In the middle was what Lo wanted.
She had been traveling North for quite some time and was very happy to finally find some water. Her only problem was that the mission to get there would be a dangerous one.
Lo considered just going past the pond and searching for another source of water, but her thirst from her long travel was overwhelming her. Slowly, she stepped onto the ice and continued forward.
"Careful, Vizzy, careful," she told herself in a barely audible voice. Vizzy was the nickname her father had given her as a pup and the name calmed her. Memories of the dead father had begun flooding back to her, when suddenly, she heard a sharp, high pitched crack.
The ice began to break and Lovizna began to sink into the freezing water. "Ayuda! Alguien que me ayude! Por favor!" In a panic, she shouted in Spanish for help, but she couldn't see or hear anyone around for what seemed like miles.

ooc: I love flex time. Btw Drizzle, if you put a second enter in between your paragraphs it makes it look alot neater, and is easier to read. Why Do They Never Learn
To Stay OFF The Ice?? A tan wolfess stuck out against the white of the barren land. The Summer Oasis had turned into a deadly winter wonderland and she had no business here, but it was a stop on her journey to the Market where she hoped to get a new slave or two to populate her territory. A smile curled onto her thin lips as she thought of perhaps having some little ones running around soon. None of hers of course. Keen had found love once but he had died, or so she presumed, leaving a gaping hole where her heart had been.
If it really came to it, to have an heir she may have to go find a male and let them 'force' breed her. It really wasn't called forcing when the wolfess was acting was it? No, she thought not.
A scream pierced the air. No doubt someone had been dumb enough to crawl out onto the ice again like an idiot. Some newcomer always does this time of year. Gruffly she picked up a lope and headed for the oasis' edge. Her assumtions had been right as she expected when Keen seen a wolf flailing in the pond trying to regain hard ground beneath their feet.
The wolf was out in the lake quite far, but not far enough that they were unreachable. Running on the thick ice at the edge she soon came to thinner ice, a more vulnerable spot for wolves of her size. Reaching out she tested it with a cautious paw. Keen pressed on the ice and when she did not hear a crack she put her weight on it and moved forward. Her progress was slow but it would do neither of them any good if she also fell in.
Thin patches dotted the ice around where the young wolf had fallen in. "Calm down, calm down! Deep breathes now!" Keen yelled to the spazzy wolf who was in essence drowning herself because she was not thinking. Living, as she did in the land of Sans Couer she was used to the voice and movements of the panicked and was beginning to learn how to calm them into a thoughtful flee than a deadly spazems.
Finally Keen reached the spot where the ice ended and the water began. Assuredly the stricken wolf would pull her in in an attemt to get out of her frozen death. Keen couldn't blame the wolf for that because most would do that same. Her actions would have to be quick and expertly manouvered to pull this off and come away with her life.
To her right lay a patch of ice descently solid, for this far out anyway. Her plan was to grab the wolf's scruff and throw her to the ice as gently as possibly. If too much weight was upon the patch of ice she stood upon Keen would fall in with the other.
She readied herself by positioning her feet on the ice so they would not slide...much, and then quick as a dart she made a grab for the wolf's scruff. Keen's aim had been slightly off, which was unusual by far for her, but she had a good hold on the wolf. Blood seeped into her pearly whites but she ignored it. Pulling hard she picked the wolf out of the water and gently plopped her onto the ice to her right.
A crack sounded. She couldn't tell if it was beneath her or the other wolf so Keen deftly moved backward the way she came. "Move back slowly now! Your paws will slip careful." She was used to being in command and so this part came easily to her. Hopefully the wolf would have enough sense to listen to her words of wisdom.

The freezing cold water was slowly engulfing Lovizna as she drowned. Suddenly she heard something. The slightest sound of footsteps on the ice reached her ears in all the confusion. 'Thank goodness', she thought. Someone was finally coming to save her. She could see the profile of another wolf, but had no way of knowing what it really looked like.
"Calm down. Calm down. Deep breaths now," said the other wolf calmly. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Lo registered that the voice was female. Listening to the wolf's advice, Lovizna calmed herself down, but began to lose awareness of what was going on. The cold had begun to feel comfortable and soothing to her. It was no longer painful to her. That is, until a completly new pain came to her attention and brought her back. The other wolf was pulling her out of the water with her teeth.
Lo was suddenly on her feet, out on the ice again when she began to get annoyed with herself. Why on earth did she even do such a stupid thing in the first place? The other wolf probably thought she was an idiot. Lovizna was so used to handling herself since her pack split up that she hadn't even bothered to think ahead and foresee the danger in all of this. And all this had come about just because she had gotten a little thirsty. She felt like such a novice! How embarassing. She was so grateful to be safe again, however, that she didn't even notice when the ice cracked.
She heard it loud and clear like a whip or a gunshot. The other wolf across from her on the ice looked a little annoyed. "Move back slowly now. Your paws will slip carefully," she said. Lovizna listened and very slowly and carefully moved backwards. The wolf oppisite her took a step as well. And slowly, but surely, the two of them were closer and closer to being back on the bank.
Finally, the two of them had made it back on land. Lovizna sighed heavily and chuckled slightly to herself. "That was close," she said. "Thank goodness you were walking past to save me. I can't thank you enough." Lo looked over her savior and realized that she was quite pretty. None of the Bultos had looked anything like her. She was much stronger built than any of her old pack sisters. She had a quiet beauty about her and Lovizna admired her for that as well as her calmness during the incident. She smiled at her and when curiosity got the best of her, asked; "What's your name?"

Does That Wind.... ...Send a Chill Down Your Spine? The return journey to the shore was much easier than the trip out. When her feet hit dry land she smiled. Keen was never one for stupid dangerous adventures as this wolf must be. Finally she had a chance to examine this other wolf. The wolf was female and she had a pretty coat. She had the type of beauty that a princess had which was alot different from Keen's own. Keen was a warrior first and formost, a commander second, a mentor with a quicker set of ears than a tongue third, and a female fourth and last of all. Keen was never much of a princess anyway. She prefered the rough and hardened look. It gave you more respect especially around those idiot males who were always look for a some cheep entertainment.
"That was close. Thank goodness you were walking past to save me. I can't thank you enough." The wolfess laughed. She laughed! The little thing must be out of her mind for she nearly lost her life and just chuckled like a pup about it. Shaking her head Keen wondered how she had made it through life this far without being dead or having pups in her belly. "What is your name?" "Names are of little importance once you are dead young one. Come, before the cold kills you." Nodding solemnly she left the wolfess little choice as she headed off. Follow her or die in the cold with icicles hanging off her pelt. It would not suprise her if the wolf chose the later, for she did not seem all that brilliant. Why God put unintelligent beings on this earth she would never know. "Keen is my calling, master of Sans Couer." She called back to the stationary wolfess, hoping to prompt her to follow Keen's lead.
How could she get this female home though without anything to keep her warm. A smile curled upon her face. The wolfess would not like this but if she valued her life she would keep pace. "We will run. Running will make your blood warm if not your coat and will keep you from the call of death. Although it is up to you, we may walk and you can freeze if you like." Keen was eager to stretch her muscles. Running appealed to her after the long walk. It seemed as though she would not be getting to the market like she had hoped but one like is fair enough a deterant she thought.
She shook her bodess loosening up her strong muscles. Keen was not the fasted wolf in the world but she had some speed and she had endurance. With her will power she would bet that she could outrun any wolf on the planet she called earth, let alone this desolate place Zephyr. She extended her walk. This pulled on her muscles and made them work just enough to let out all the kinks and prepare for the hard run again.

ooc- hope you guys dont mind me joining in!
ic- Miya was coming roaming around. As a loner, she didn't have a pack and for that matter, no one she had to listen to. She liked not having to be bossed around by someone. Altough she does get a little lonely sometimes, she doesn't mind.
Miya was on a trip to find water and food. Since it was winter, she had not found much food. And whatever she had found was almost as skinny as her. She had been walking around for a while now and she started to get thirsty. She knew there was a pond not too far away. That's where she was headed to.
Once she got closer to the pond, she noticed some wolves running about. She stopped in her tracks. The last thing she wanted was a fight. She crouched down in the grass hoping that the wolves had not seen her yet. Miya couldn't decide whether to go up and greet the dogs or just wait until they left. She decided to stay where she was. She hoped that her scent would not drift off down towards the 2 wolves.

After a long pause, she said; "Names are of little importance once you are dead young one. Come, before the cold kills you." Lo nodded and suddenly began to get very cold. The wind against her watery coat was going to turn her to ice if she didn't do something about it. The wolfess started to walk off, but then turned back around and said "Keen is my calling, master of Sans Couer."
Lovizna needed somewhere to go and she needed someway to stay warm. Her only option was to follow Keen, so she did."We will run," Keen said. "Running will make your blood warm if not your coat and will keep you from the call of death. Although it is up to you, we may walk and you can freeze if you like." Lo smiled. Because of her blunder on the ice, she must have looked like such a princess to this wolf. Little did Keen know, Lovizna was tough. Kind, but tough. She was needed to be tough in her old home.
Lo was excited for a run, and even more excited at the possibility that she might even get close to outrunning, or at the very least, keep a steady pace with Keen. The only thing really stopping her from keeping up was her wet coat. It was weighing her down slightly and making her shiver. This annoyed Lo, so when the tan wolf infront of her started to run, so did she.
The two of them just stayed around the lake for a while until Lo was a little drier and able to run much faster and much father away. Suddenly she stopped. Keen, who was some yards ahead of her, stopped as well. She gave Lovizna a looked, but Lo ignored it and slowly walked toward her. "Did you hear that?" Lo whispered to Keen. She looked around for a source, but saw none.

If I Had Known I Was Going To Be Babysitting,
I Would Not Have Saved Your Scrawny Neck The wolfess ran beside her for a time. The two were close in stride so it was a nice run though she was pretty sure the other could outrun her without the freezing water dangling from her coat. The air was crisp and it burned when it hit her lungs. Keen liked the burn though, it reminded her of home and of...., but he was gone, dead she assumed.
She shook her head. It was not healthy to think of your unpleasent past but sometimes it could not be helped. Keen did not notice that the other wolfess had stopped and so she kept on going. About twenty yards ahead now she noticed the absence of the wolfess' footfalls. Stopping hard on her hindquarters she turned to look behind her. Was the other ok?
Then she smelled it. The wind had changed directions and yet another wolf was upon them. She trotted back to the one she had saved and looked for this other. It was not wise of the other wolfess to stop and look for this wolf though. Her coat was freezing and without the running she would be exceptionally cold. It would have been nice to just have a gentle warning of the prescence of another and kept on. Keeping a wary ear to the back of them and their noses to the sky, but the damage was done and now she had to make friends.
"Did you hear that?" The wolfess asked.
"No, but I did smell another. The other is a wolf and there is only the scent of one as far as I can tell. It would be idiotic to attack the two of us together so stay close." Keen spoke low to the wolfess she had saved, which she was beginning to regret. The wolf was more of a bother, a pup that needed watching and still suckled from her mother's belly. "You there. Show yourself." Keen called to the new wolf. She liked seeing things better than not.

Miya was still low in the grass. She could now tell that the wolves had smelled her. The wind was now blowing towrds the two wolves and not towards her. She didn't think they knew her hdding spot yet, but it would only be a short amount of time before they found it. She didn't want to reveal herself at all, but she didn't want to run away. Afterall, she still was thirsty.
Miya decided she was going to show herself. She wasn't ready to fight but she would if neccesary. Now the only problem was whether she should appear to be a coward and let them know she wasn't going to hurt them, or, appear strong and dominent and risk the slight chance of being attacked because the other wolves might be dominent as well.
Miya hadn't really decided which was better as she stood up in the grass to reveal herself. She walked steadily towards the wolves kepping an eye on both of them and keeping her ears open for the slightest noise. She stopped infront of the wolves. She had guessed that the one that looked very cold had went for a little swim. "Hello." She said calmly to the wolves. She hoped that slowly, she could make her way to the water.

Immedietly, Lovizna tensed up. The presense of other wolves was so agrivating for her. She had just wanted to be alone and find a territory to sleep in for the night. She hadn't anticipated any of this. She sighed heavily and shook herself so as not to get too cold while they were stationary. She was sure that she looked ridiculous, but it was better than freezing to death.
The wolf slowly walked out from behind the bushes. Lo felt like growling, but knew better. It would probably only insinuate a fight and she didn't want another massacre on her hands. She had already witnessed too much when it came to things like that. Her entire pack was taken from her, for goodness sakes. Her only natural reaction would be to want to defend herself.
The other wolf examined Lo and Keen. She seemed to notice the obvious soaking wet nature of Lo's coat. "Hello," she said. She appeared calm, but Lo could smell slight uneasiness to her. Her eyes darted to the water as if she had wanted to take a drink.
"You might not want to try that," Lovizna said to her. "As you can probably see it didn't go to well for me the last time." Lo's headstrong nature had really been what had driven her to try and take a drink. The idiotic idea probably would have left her thoughts immediently if it hadn't been for the fact that she wanted to prove herself wrong. She waited silently for a response from somebody else.

Seeing the somewhat wet wolf tense up made Miya a little more startled. She ignored it though. The wolf must have seen her looking at the water for, the wolf said, "Youmight not want to try that. As you can see, it didn't go well for me the last time." Miya nodded. She knew it would be risky to go out on the ice. But, what if there was another way? She thought to herself, Isn't ise just frozen water? It would quench my thirst if I lick it. Wait, my tounge has gotten stuck on ice more than once. But, what if she dug at the ice. If she got some pieces from it, it would definatly help her thirst. Or either, the ice would break and she could actually get to the water.
Miya satyed where she was, without talking for a moment. "So, what are your names?" She asked in a friendly tone. She wanted to try to calm these wolves down before she turned her back on them.

The wolf oppisite them seemed to be of no threat or harm to Lovizna and Keen, so Lo relaxed her shoulders and calmed herself down. There was no reason to be so defensive. The Bulto massacre was in the past. But Lo had learned a lot in her past life and she wasn't stupid enough to completly let her guard down. Still, she understood that there was no immediate harm. The other wolf asked in a friendly voice; "So what are your names?"
Lo could only assume that she wanted to be kind to them. She figured that Keen wouldn't say anything about themselves, but Lo saw no issues in this. "My name is Lovizna. I come from the Bulto packs of the South." She turned to Keen to see if she would say anything. When she didn't, Lo said; "This is Keen. She saved me from drowning in the pond.'Gracias a dios.'"
The three wolves were silent for a while. Lo noticed that the wolf was still looking slightly longingly at the pond. She thought to herself that there must be some sort of way Lo looked at the two others. "What would your name be?"

Miya was broken from her thoughts when the wolf introduced her and the wolf next to her. "Hello, Lovizna, Keen. My name is Miya." She said. Miya was starting to relax a little more now. But she still stayed alert. "So, where are you guys off to?" Miya asked in a rather curious tone. She sat down and wrapped her tail neatly around her body, as far as it could go, and waited for a reply.

ooc: sorry guys I didn't check this when I only seen tinypup's name. My bad. Hit me at school when I do this Drizzle...not that it'll hurt but still. lol Tinypup, remember 200 words please. Your last post was 76 words. Dreaming of Home Sweet Home Keen hated the small talk. If this wolf wanted nothing from her then they should be going. The other wolf was freezing by now and wasting all her hard work out on the ice. The new wolf glanced at the water and she could see longing in her eyes.
"You might not want to try that. As you can see, it didn't go well for me the last time."
Wasn't that the truth! Keen almost laughed but restrained herself but her eyes held a certain sparkle in them. "This should be the only time you listen to her though. Just don't follow her example." Keen pleaded with the other wolf. She didn't want to waste more time rescueing a second idiot today, not when she had things to do.
Keen stayed nice and relaxed her shoulders back and resting, her tail the height of a master's, and her ears pricked forward. It was the mask her had grown accustom to wearing in the faces of new wolves. The other two however were complete open books. The wolfess she had saved was tense and ready to defend herself but then she relaxed becoming more easy with the new comer. Another mistake, you never let your guard down that low. You never new if you were facing a wolf like herself that could guard her emotions.
The second wolf did the same. She tensed with the wolfess beside her and relaxed when she did. It was a show of mimicery. This wolf was reacting not being proactive. In her mind you be proactive or you die. Keen kept the frown off of her lips. Why these wolves parents were let to breed it was beyond her. Who would want to bring unintelligent wolves into the world?
"So, what are your names?"
Keen barely resisted rolling her eyes. This was one of the worst questions to ask. Who cared what the other's names were? Certaintly not Keen. What she cared about was their intentions, their actions, and their rank. Calling had no weight of importance in her mind.
"My name is Lovizna. I come from the Bulto packs of the South. This is Keen. She saved me from drowning in the pond.'Gracias a dios.'"
So the first wolfess was Lovinza and she was from the south. That made sense, she wouldn't be as aware of the danger of ice as the northerners would, like herself. Lovinzna introduced Keen to the other also. She was glad for that. Keen would rather save her breathe for more important things in life than her name.
The other introduced herself as Miya then and she could visably see the wolf relax. Keen never wanted to be an open book like that. She was too guarded. Not to mention her father had instilled a sense of odd defense in her that had not done her wrong so far in life. She smiled making herself seem interested in the small talk when really all she wanted to do was go home and climb to her den.
In Zephyr she had found a place similar to that in which she used to own and claimed it as hers. She gave the place the same name two for she had liked the name of her old home. Sans Couer it is called. It means heartless and that it was. Sans Couer was a cold land, unwelcoming and beyond all deadly. She would have to be careful to keep an eye on Lovizna so she didn't die from a stupid mistake. Keen loved her land for you always had to be on your guard lest Mother Nature play a cruel trick on you.
"Well Miya it was nice meeting you. I have some things to attend to in Sans Couer, my home and you are welcome to travel with us if you would like to. My home is open to you whenever you need it." The fake smile still creased her maw and she took a step back hoping Lovinza would catch the drift and leave ahead of her. "Lovizna why don't you leave first, head for the horizon there. You'll see a large mountain. Keep in line with it." Keen still didn't trust the wolf completely and she figured if she attacked she would be better able to handle it than Lovizna.

OOC- Sorry about that! Couldn't think of much else to say. I will try harder and work on it.
IC- Miya nodded at Keen's niceness. She still didn't trust these wolves completly yet, but she was still trying to relax around them. Miya noticed that Keen wasn't as relaxed as herself or Lovinza. She looked rather protective, much more so than herself and Lovinza.
Miya almost laughed when she heard Keen say, "This should be the only time you want to listen to her though. Just don't follow her example." Miya knew better than to walk on frozen water. Especially in unknown land. She still had the thought of clawing at the ice.
Miya wondered why she couldn't follow Lovinza. Well, other than the fact that Miya didn't know her, or how well she knew the land. If she did follow the wolf, she could land in some trouble that she didn't know about.
Miya felt soothed by the Keen was opening her home up to Miya. But she didn't know why she would do that. Even though Miya wouldn't hurt a strong wolf like her, she was a loner. When Keen offered for Miya to travel with her, Miya thought about it for a moment. She would have some company, and a friend. But what would happen when they reached Keen's home? Would Keen treat her like a slave?
"You are offering me to travel with you?" Miya said, emphisizing 'me' and 'you'. She wanted to make sure she understood what Keen said.
