Nala came out of her den. Her cubs had grown fast so far and they were becoming handfuls. They weren't quite two months old yet but they were a pretty good size. They could all walk and all their eyes were open. Nala felt like she was doing a good job raising her first litter. She was coming up with enough food for the entire pride with the help of Sasha. Scar's shoulder wasn't fully healed yet though. Thankfully, there haven't been any times where he has had to fight yet though.
Nala jumped up ontop of the den and looked over the plains. The migrating animals slowly moved around as they dotted the plains. The sky was just starting to turn bright in east as the sun's warm rays were slowly becoming more and more visible. All of her other pridemates were still in their dens and sleeping. Or atleast she thought they were. Her stomach churned as she watched the sun rays become brighter as time moved on. Her ears were pricked and she was listening for any noise of her cubs awakening. She could hear her cubs, Zeva, making some noises but she stayed where she was. She would let Vallion handle the awakening cubs.

Derit opened his eyes. His mother was no where to be found. However, his siblings still lay awake. Akwardly, the cub stumbled out of the den and let a chirpy noise escape him as he called for anyone within hearing range. Especially his mother. He was hungry, and to him, it was feeding time, no matter what she thought. However, the adventerous side of him welled up and soon, he began running around, padded paws falling over the lands beneath him.
He stopped to listen, letting his lion ears swivel this way and that before he continued one. He then crouched when he spotted a small bird. However, just as he was about to pounce, the bird flew away. He watched it, and as it flew higher and higher into the sky, he lifted one tan paw, and stretched it so that he was reaching to his full extent. He then spotted a small field mouse, and began chasing around, pouncing on it, and biting it playfully. He didn't want to kill the animal, but rather play with it, even though it's racing heart would be it's death. However, Derit didn't know this, and continued to play with the mouse.
A quick glance back to the den caused him to lift one paw, turning it sideways, ready to being play again. However, when he looked down, the mouse had taken it's opportunity to run away. He sniffed the ground and then dashed into the open to see if he could spot the rodent. Derit made it pretty clear that he was the most outgoing, and the biggest handful of the three cubs.

Zeva followed shortly after her brother. She wasn't as adventurous, but she was curious. She watched as her brother played with a mouse that eventually got away from him. Clutz. All males were at one time or another. She could see her mother's large form sitting just shortly off. She felt so safe around her mother. She raced towards her brother, jumping on his back. He would probably over power her, being the biggest out of the three siblings. But hey, it was fun either way. "Got you!' She squealed happily. She loved trying to tackle her brother, even if he won more often than not.
-------------------------------------- Nala watched as Zeva tackled her brother. She loved watching her cubs as they played together. Normally having Derit as the winner. The young cub would grow into a healthy and strong lion, defeating many others. She only wished that he didn't have to go out on his own later on in life. She laid down on her side. This would be the last time they would drink milk. They needed to start eating meat. "Cubs! Come drink!" She called. She wondered how her cubs would react to the taste of fresh meat. She liked it when she had been a cub.

Derit rolled as his sister, Zeva, attacked him. The dirt stuck to his tan lion pelt, and he squeaked once. He then jumped up, tackling Zeva and pinning her easily, a playful smirk plastered across his lion maw. Then, the young male heard the call of his mother. With a steady stride and eventually small bounds, he came to his mother. Her offering of milk seemed to appal him to great lengths now. He merely turned away and tried to find something else that was small and that he could stalk, and learn to hunt in his own way. Perhaps the next thing that he caught would be something that wouldn't get away, and he could eat. After all, he was weaning much faster than the other cubs.
Derit was proving himself, even though he shouldn't at such a young age. But he was. He was proving himself to be strong, and willing of anything. Proving himself to want something, and get what he wanted, no matter what. A small bird caused the automatic reaction of stalking to linger in the cub's mind. He lowered himself, stare intent on the small black bird. His shoulders rose as he stalked forward. When he was close enough, his never-faltering gaze measured what speed he would need to use. Then, he pounced, landing on the black bird. However, the bird was a scavenger. As the mother swooped down to protect her young baby, and get a meal at the same time, Derit ducked and then he dashed back to the den, and went to his mother, settling for a given meal of milk instead of the bird.

Zeva hadn't been paying any attention to what her brother had been up to, but it apparently hadn't gone very well seeing that he had came running back towards them. She could hear her mother purr lightly as she suckled. Once she had gotten enough to drink, she changed her always happy gaze. There was nothing in the large world to do. She could see something flicking around out of the corner of her eye. Turning, she could see her mother's tail moving around as she laid her head on the ground. She gave a happy smile and darted for the tail, only to hear her mother yowl when she had sunk her claws in.
