Scar nodded. "Ok, then. Come along." Scar said quickly. He turned in the opposite direction. He flicked his tail to Vallion and Vernost to follow them. He hopes Sasha would get the message that he wanted her to follow. He walked onward. He was walking in the opposite dirrection of the river. Soon, the northern top of it would be flooded with the great migration. It would signal the start of spring. It would bring life to the now dull and brown plains.
-------------------------------------------------- Vallion had followed Scar at his signal. He took his place beside Scar. It was going to get hot soon, and there would be no shade, or water. It would be a very long walk. He was already starting to get hot. His big fluffy mane was a very big disadvantage for him. He had more wieght to move around, and more energy he had spend moving it. He guessed that Sasha would be staying with them. It wasn't a huge surprise to him actually. The way Scar felt when he was around her, didn't hide any of his feelings. Vallion knew this well, they had been brothers after all. He knew Scar's thoughts most of the time.

Sasha stood when Scar called out to them and turned and walked away. She trotted after him, feeling the ground under her somewhat sore paw pads. They were sore from walking on the scortching sand for so long. She thought about Scar's reactions to her being close. He seemed to be happy with her close and became agitation whenever he gave her knews that would possibly chase her away. He would become nervous. And she found it intriguing. She knew that she herself felt happier around him.
Sasha thought about this Nala cat as they walked. Was she pretty? Was she lion? She must had to have been Vallion's mate because he was in a kind of grumpy mood until they had gotten closer. And Nala's name didn't come up until Vallion was itching to go. Then again, it could just be that he wanted to get back to the main sleeping dense so the feeling of being home was finalized. Sometimes when you walk into your home, it doesn't seem real until you plop down where you sleep and then finally, you know, you're home. The best feeling in the world. So yes, it could have been that. Although, she was hoping it was because of this Nala cat.

After walking for a few hours, Scar's belly started rumbling. He didn't realize how hungry he really was until he had seen a herd of Zebra. They were too far off to catch though. The sun was just past its highest point. He could tell as it had started to get cooler. He was thankful for the light breeze. It barely ruffled his fur, but he was still thankful. Maybe they could get Nala to catch something for them when they returned It was her specialty. But Nala was still a long way off. He noticed his brother trudging on relentlessly. He hoped that Nala would still be there for his brother would be devastated.
Scar saw some trees coming up on them. He could barely make out the thin outline of branches though. After they passed through the small forest, the den would be within sight. It would be on the horizon. All you would be able to see was the outline of three large boulders. There was one large boulder sitting on the ground. On both other sides were two other boulders. They were stacked up against it. The large boulders made kind of small dens. One on both sides. The brothers used the top of the boulder as a vantage point to scope out prey.

Sasha had otherwise been zoned out while they were trudging their way to Scar's and Vallion's home. That is, until she saw the zebra a good measure away. It was too far to hunt but it reminded her of how hungry she was. She hadn't eated for over two and a half days. When she did eat was the day before she found Scar and Vallion. But she wasn't hungry that day. The only thing she had on her mind was finding some water. She hadn't really been hungry lately and she wasn't yet in heat. Sasha knew the two were connected. It was a biological sign she had noticed about herself that as she got closer and closer to when she would be in heat, she started losing her apetite. But she didn't want it so soon. It was a new place with three males. Albiet, one was taken by another female, but still. It was still different to her.
She thought to herself for a moment. When they reached the dens, she could always go out and hunt. She wasn't a bad hunter and she actually prided herself in her prize kills. It would also give her the chance to learn about the land. She would ask Scar about it when they were closer to the den. For now, she just stayed silent.

Scar was passing through the small forest. He was keeping alert. He flicked his tail for Vallion to check out the surrounding area. They would have to be cautious here. If another male had decided to claim the land, they would have to chase him out. He sniffed the air, no scent of any intruding males though. It would be a good place to be attacked though. He dropped away farther from Vernost and Sasha. He wanted to check the bushes to make sure there were any scents here. He gave Sasha and Vernost an encouraging look to just keep going straight.
------------------------------------------------ Vallion had been nosing around some bushes when he noticed that they was an old gazelle ahead of him. He was too far off from Scar to tell him about it, but too close to make any warning noises. He crouched down in the grass. He quietly stalked and started to run. The gazelle immediatly started running. Even though it was old, it was still out running him.
---------------------------------- Scar was in the bushes waiting to jump on the animal. He stuck his paw out and swatted it down. He went in to kill the small animal. He took a leg off of the animal for Vernost, another 2 for Himself and Vallion, then gave the rest to Sasha to eat. He thought she must be pretty hungry. He didn't know when she had eaten last. She surely hadn't eaten in her time with them.

Sasha followed the others to where Scar and Vallion had caught a surprised gazelle and killed it quickly. Each male got a peice as Sasha stood on the sidelines. And then Scar seemed to have left the rest to her. She inched forward tentativly, sniffing at the fresh meat. She stepped closer and licked the fur at the stomach slowly before digging in. Her hunger got the best of her and she ate ravenously, the rib bone shattering in her powerful jaws. She lay down as she continued to eat, greatful for food at last and managing to not make a mess. It wasn't long before a good amount of meat was stripped from the bones that she was completely full. Maybe a little too full. She scooted away from the carcas and licked her chops and cleaned any blood out of her fur that may have gotten their. Washing it away with her tongue. She stood slowly and went over to thank Scar and Vallion for the meal. "Thank you very much. It was very filling and I haven't eaten in a while." She was very greatful but also knew it wouldn't be for another long while before she was willing to eat again.

Scar nodded. "It's no problem." He said happily. He looked at Vallion and Vernost They had both finnished eating their part. The sun was up in the middle of the sky. For now, the shade of the trees were protecting them from the sun's hot rays, or most of them anyway. Scar could see vultures starting to swoop down on the remains of their kill. It wouldn't be long before hyenas noticed, and took advantage of whatever was left over. Scar flicked his tail for everyone to start walking again. It would have been nice to relax some, but he didn't want to risk running into hyenas.
------------------------------------------- After breaking out of the trees, Vallion took the lead. He could smell the faint scent of Nala. "If your nose is good enough Sasha, you might be able to smell Nala some. Her scent is faint here though." He pointed out to her. She may want to know what her pride mate smelled like. It might be useful for future purposes. Vallion keep smelling. But what he discovered was startling. He could small that more than one lion had been past here. He couldn't tell how many more, how old, or the gender. It was just as stale as Nala's was though. He hopes deeply that she hadn't been attacked. He picked up his pace, giving his brother a worried glance.

Sasha was walking calmly until she caught a very light scent in the air before Vallion spoke. "Yeah, I smell her. But there's more scents than one." She was a little confused at first until Vallion threw Scar a worried looked and picked up the pace. She followed. Sasha wondered if something was wrong. She couldn't be sure since she was just registering these new scents now. She didn't know for sure if it was just Nala on the land or if there were more. But she knew Vallion was worried. Which also confirmed that Nala was his mate. Some little part of her relaxed as she followed swiftly.
"How much further is the dens?" A worried tone pricked at her voice. Her tail flicked as Sasha looked between Vallion and Scar, wondering what they were to be expecting. The mixed scents in the air were stale, but could it mean that someone or something was still here? She made her way a bit closer to Scar, closing the ranks a little. She knew, being more spread out would be easier to attack.

"Can you see those rocks up ahead?" Scar asked. "Those are the dens. But they are alot more comfy than they look." He reassured her. He was clear to the signs that were right infront of his nose. There were other lions on their land. He and Vallion would have to do an immediate search around the surrounding area. This would have to be a safe place like it had been before. He trotted on after Vallion as he noticed Sasha moving closer to him. He didn't know if it was to feel safer, and he didn't care.
----------------------------------- As Vallion came closer, he couls see the thin outline of Nala sunning herself on the rocks. It looked like she was well fed. Her tummy was more round than it had been before. He picked up his pace dramatically. He had almost broke into a run but stopped himself. He could tell Nala noticed him as she stood up and jumped off the rocks. He tummy sure was round. He ran up to her, he felt her ryb up against him. She felt warm and happy. And so didn't he. He could now see his mate again. He wondered how Sasha would react to Nala.

Sasha glanced ahead and saw where Scar had indicated. She could see the round rocks and excitement grew in her chest like a balloon was causing her to swell up. When was the last time she had been in a den, actually able to sleep in a den? She didn't even know anymore. Just the idea of sleeping in a warm, cozy den made her feel safe again. Forget home, she liked the idea of being safe and not alone.
As they neared, she could see the other cat jump down from the rocks and she shook herself a bit to resume a non-threatening gait. The Nala cat looked heavy when she saw at a closer view. Not heavy like she was fat, but heavy as in carrying. Or had once been carrying and hadn't got rid of all the pregnancy weight yet. Meaning if there were cubs, they were going to be very new. Although, she'd most likely find out about that later.
A new thought occured to her. How long had Scar and Vallion been wandering outside of their home boundaries? Sasha didn't know if she had even asked at one point. "Scar, how long have you been away." She walked up to level with him, shoulder to shoulder, eyeing Nala. "I don't think I've yet asked. Have I?"

Scar laughed. "No, you haven't asked that yet." He was trying to remember when they last were here. He didn't think it had been that long. They had met Nala 2 weeks before leaving. They had left after the wildebeest migration. So maybe two, to three weeks. "About two, maybe three weeks." He replied. He watched as Nala came to welcome his brother back. She had flicked her tail to Scar as a hello. After a few moments, she had obviously noticed the presence of Vernost and Sasha. She had been glaring at Sasha and Vernost. One to the other. He quickly took a small step between Nala and Sasha, but enough so that they could still see each other.
-------------------------------------------------------------- Vallion stepped back. He was much happier than before. "Nala, I would like you to meet Sasha. Sasha, this is Nala. We met Sasha on the way back over here. And that is Vernost." He introduced. Pointing his tail to each in turn. But he still noticed Nala's glare at Sasha. He wondered what she was thinking at this moment. He didn't think Nala would try and attack Sasha. But what would he do if she did?

Sasha quickly noticed Nala's stare but didn't back down. She posed no threat but didn't slink away like a scared little kitty and let Nala get the upper hand over her. Sasha kept her eyes on Nala as she bumped Scar's shoulder with her nose. "It's all right." Her voice was low as she spoke to Scar. "She cant hurt me." Then she spoke directly to Nala. She kept her tone light and friendly. "Hello, Nala. I am Sasha. Pleased to meat your aquantance." She tipped her nose down a little in a greeting gesture.
Sasha was calm. It was the only way to be when another cat didn't welcome your presence. She hoped it didn't come down to a fight. She didn't want to fight. Nor did she want to cause problems. Although, Nala wasn't just glaring at Sasha, but she had her gaze on Vernost too. So it wasn't just the fact that another female was on the premisis but that strangers were walking on her land. It was understandable. How often would a cat allow invaders of the unknown walk on her precious territory. She knew, as much as males protected their homes, females could be much more fierce about it. It was a stuborn way of doing things with the whole 'this is my home and I dont want to share' kind of attitude. But, it was respectable as well.

Nala lightend her glare some. She walked slowly in circles around Sasha, smelling her. Soon, she sat down beside Scar. Her glare had went away. She had decided that Sasha wasn't all that bad. But Vernost on the other had had been more submissive to begin with. She wouldn't have to worry about him at all. Nala smiled. "Hellow Sasha. I am Nala, if you haven't already guessed." She joked. "Are you going to be staying here?" Nala decided it wouldn't be all that bad having another female around. She might actually enjoy the female company. For if Sasha wasn't here, she would have to be surrounded by males, 24/7. Something not all that enjoyable to her.
She flicked her tail happily. She flicked her ears. The flies where bugging her. They kept landing on her ears. The buzzing noise was incredibly annoying to her. Though she had been around them for most of her life, it didn't mean that she had to enjoy them. Irritated, she swiped her right paw over her ears. Maybe that would keep them away. She thought to herself. But with no luck, the flies came back and kept buzzing around her.

Sasha smiled when Nala welcomed her and she internally relaxed, greatful. "Scar had invited me to stay, yes." Nala seemed to have opened up a bit now that the threats were gone from the air. Sasha watched the flies buz around, but ignored them. Sasha sat down comfortably and looked at Scar for a moment before returning her gaze to Nala. "We caught your scent back there." She flicked an ear, indicating towards the trees. "But there was more than one scent." She looked at Scar. She was attempting to remind him of the other scents they had come across so he could ask Nala about it. Sasha didn't really feel it was her place to do that and she had never smelled them before so she didn't necesarily have the judgement of it being an intruder or not.
The tip of her tail brushed along the ground as she flicked it back and forth. Her ears were slightly tipped to the side as she waited. She didn't necesarily feel uneasy, but there was something new about this atmosphere that made her anxious. The last time she had been around this many cats, she had been attacked. So to be around this many again, but the feelings more friendly, was slightly strange to her. Goes to show, being alone for too long does things to the mind.

Nala nodded. She noticed her look to Scar. "Oh, yes. That was me. I was down there not too long ago. About two days or so. There we some vultures and I decided to check it out." She explained. She didn't really know how to tell Sasha about the cubs in her stomach. That is if she hadn't already guessed. She knew that Most likely Scar and Vallion would have guessed by her scent and all, but the two brothers could sometimes be the most oblivious cats in the world when they are looking for something specific.
Nala looked at the three males. "Why don't you three go and check out the dens? I put fresh bedding in all of them while you were away. I thought you might be back soon." She said happily. Looking from Scar, to Vallion, and then to Vernost. "I can show you the land if you like. Since you will staying here and all. You might want to knwo where the boundaries and all are." She said happily. She had jumped up when the thought had crossed her mind. It would be a good oppertunity to get to know Sasha better, without three males breathing down her neck.
