The proud tiger strolled onto the open desert. At first the sand stung his pads but he gritted his teeth and moved on. The brilliant coloring of his orange and black coat stuck out like a sore thumb in the sand lands and he hated it. He was not the stealthy type but the warrior inside of him despised the thought of being this open. Hot air hit his eyes and lungs and both ached at the dry heat.
There was not a cloud in the sky so it was obvious there was no rain in sight. The light breeze that would hit his body was hot and sharp and provided no relief. His pawprints were blown away and he felt a ghost for there was no sign of his passage.
Pushing on he began to think for there was not much to look at in this land. 'There has to be other's here, somewhere.' Vernost was loyal as any animal on earth and he needed a leige, someone to give all this loyalty to. He needed to show his honor and bestow his talants upon another and let them command him. It was not that he was weak, he could lead smaller groups but he needed an overall ruler, someone to make the big decisions for min.
Refusing to give up he trudged forward needed that someone to command him and then he seen a shadow on the horizon, the thin shape of a cat. If he was halluncinating he could not tell but it did not matter to him. He rushed forward to meet the new comer not caring if they were evil or not.

Scar was truding along hopelessly, in theis hot land. His mane was heavy and was slowing him down. His brother Vallion was walking slowly a little farther behind him. Scar kept going however. He needed to find someone, to help watch over his territory. He and Vallion also need to find someone to start a family with. But Scar stopped to wait for his brother to catch up. There was a hill infront of him, and he didn't like going into the unknown without someone by his side, to back him up if there was something bad.
Vallion had finally reached his side. Scar gave the signal to start climbing over the hill. Scar was scanning the land as he saw a bright orange figure walking alone. He could tell Vallion saw it to by the way his stiffend. Vallion started flexing his claws as the orange cat moved over the land, heading straight for them.
Scar started heading for the tiger, in a non-aggressive way, but letting him know that he was in charge with his brother to back him up. Vallion soon started to follow Scar, weary of the new-comer. He watched as his brother welcomed the tiger, revealing his teeth, and readying to jump into battle if this large cat attacked his brother.

The sand shifted beneath his massive paws and the swift trot he had picked up taxed his muscles more than he would have liked, but there were other cats on the horizon and he just couldn't pass up this chance. It was possible that he could actually be finding work and a home tonight. Excitment pulsed through him more so than before any battle.
The lion that was seemingly the leader showed his dominance and Vernost could not be more happy. He was a follower a server, and he needed a leader. At least when it came to the big sceme of things anyway. The other lion, clearly second in command showed his teeth, but Vernost just put on a friendly half smile. Since the other males were to be his lieges, or so he hoped, he figured he had best let them start off and give the first word.
The heat of the day beat against his black stripes and it felt as though it was grilling him. His eyes held the serious personality that was normally his but he had become so desperate in his search for a liege that he seemed almost childish. Hopefully these lions would see him for who he really was and not the deprived tiger that stood before them.

Getting closer to the tiger, Scar and Vallion could see how deprived and lonely he really was. Before speaking, Scar seized the oppertunity to size the tiger up, still showing his dominance. Vallion on the otherhand was still plucking up enough courage to size the tiger up himself. But he was still showing how powerful he really was by flexing his muscles under his tan and golden colored pelt.
Seeing the tiger as a friendly one for the time being, Scar flicked his brother with his tall, trying to calm him down. "What is your name?" Scar asked, a somewhat harsh tone to his question. "I am Scar, and this is Vallion, my brother."
Vallion shot his brother a look, a one of pure madness. He would rather have their names left unknown. Atleast until they knew his. Although the tiger was showing a friendly display, Vallion still did not trust him. Ignoring his brother's flick, Vallion sheathed and unsheathed his claws, hoping to make sure the large, deprived tiger knew he was not afraid to attack him. While doing this, he looked the orange tiger over, noticing his large paws.
OOC- Sorry that it's a few words short.

ooc: no prob.! A few words isn't bad. Sorry for being late, Mom makes snow days house work days, I was trapped! lol Sorry this is horrible, I haven't captured much muse for him yet Vernost watched the lions interact. Obviously they knew each other quite well. "What is your name? I am Scar, and this is Vallion, my brother." The lion's tone was commanding and Vernost drank it in. He needed to be under some form of power and this just felt so good. The other lion, Vallion, did not seem to like him. Vernost couldn't imagine why. He was being friendly enough wasn't he? "My name is Vernost. It is a pleasure to meet you." The sun was really boring down on him now. It felt like nails were digging into his coat, but there was no way he would go against a commanding officer and leave. Antsy Vernost dug his paws into the sand to try and find the cool sand underneath for some relief. A breeze started to pick up and it was hot as the pits of hell. He winced as it traveled over his dark coat. He didn't like this at all. A wind could mean a sand storm and that would be terrible. Vernost could just not let his new companions be wiped out, especially since he just found them. "Scar, it would seem we have a storm brewing. If you would like I will follow you to a better place where we may talk."

OOC- Its ok! "Well it is nice to meet you Vernost." Scar said happily. He looked at his brother as Vallion flicked him with his tail. He growled a warning growl. He did not want his brother controling him. Scar liked being in charge. When he is in charge, he doesn't have to take orders from anyone. Vallion heard his brother growl at him and instently slunk back a little ways. He didn't like it when his brother growled, especially at him. He felt the wind blowing on his fur, as his mane brushed his ears. He noticed that Vernost was digging his claws into the sand. Scar felt his mane brushing his ears too. Scar watched as his brother backed up after he had warned him. He knew Vallion would eventually. Vallion usually listened to him. As Vernost started talking, Scar agreed that he thought a storm was coming. "Yes, good idea. We can look for some better sheltered spot." Scar said before turning the opposite dirrection and walking off. Vallion had felt very angered about this. He did not like Vernost. He looked dependent, not a couragous big cat like himself and Scar. Vallion turned to follow Scar, keeping an eye on Vernost. "Well, are you coming or not?" He growled at Vernost.

The two lions seemed to be bickering over him. Ahh well it was none of his concern really. Vernost figured he at least had a home with the one, Scar. The wind was picking up and he was getting ansty. He really wanted to be out of this place. The desert was the place for a tiger. He wanted the jungle and a nice pool to swim in. Mentally he smiled. He could just feel the water caressing his back and lapping at his fur.
"Yes, good idea. We can look for some better sheltered spot." Vernost was happy that the lion had taken his advise and nodded his thanks and agreement. Scar turned to lead the party but Vallion stayed behind. The other lion sneered at him and seemed almost disgusted.
"Well are you coming or not?" Vallion snapped. Vernost could tell he would have trouble with this brother. Hurridly he picked up his feet and followed Scar. He really didn't want any trouble especially from his masters.
The sand swirled around his legs as it built its way up from the wind. His tail dragged on the ground and Vernost sincerly hoped that they would be to a safe spot soon. This heat was killing him and he really didn't want to be stuck in a sand storm. 'Hurry Scar.' He thought as he obediantly plodded after him.

Hearing the Vernost's reply, Scar trotted onward. To him, if Vernost didn't follow, it would be his own fault. Scar ignored his brother's rude reply. He knew that Vallion didn't usually like other big cats, especially males. He kept his eyes open for any sign of shelter or water. All this heat and walking was making him thirsty.
Vallion started to slink back and was soon behind Vernost. He did not like having his back turned on the beast. It would give him the perfect oppertunity to attack him. And if he did, Vallion would not even see it coming. He wondered why Scar was likeing this tiger so much. He was a large male that could take over their territory. Even if the tiger seemed weak, well atleast compared to Vallion and Scar.
Scar soon caught sight of a large tree with a small pond next to it. He was delighted to see both the shade and the tree. "There is a spot up ahead. It has shade and water." He announced. He quickly picked up his pace. He could feel the wind picking up quickly and thought there was probably going to be a storm.

Vallion slunk back behind Vernost and it made him nervous. That cat didn't like him in the first place so why should he let him walk behind him? The answer; because he couldn't afford to look offensive to these cats. They were too valuable to him at the moment and he would rather not tick Scar off like he had somehow ticked Vallion off.
"There is a spot up ahead. It has shade and water." Scar called back to him. They were moving at a swift trot but the tiger easily kept up with them. Vernost wasn't built for speed but his endurance level was high and if he paced himself he could go on for days.
The watering whole was small but large enough for the three of them to take turns swimming if they wanted to. Vernost longed to plunge into the water but he had better wait for his superiors to drink first. Resting under the shade of several palms he could literally feel his body tempeture drop. The black stripes on his back cooled and he no longer felt like he was on a grill, being roasted for someone's dinner. Yawning, Vernost dipped his head onto his paws and waited for Scar and Vallion to make the next move.

Seeing the watering hole that Scar had pointed out, Vallion was overjoyed on the inside at the first thought of water. He kept it to himself however. As they neared, Scar and Vallion headed straight for the water. Looking back, he saw Vernost in the shade, Good ridence he thought to himself. He would like to dump this tiger at any cost.
Scar was too exited and let it show through a little through his relaxed body. He leaned down to take a nice long drink. As Vallion took a drink, Scar noticed how vigerous he was. He moved slowly behind him. At the right moment, he pushed Vallion. Vallion let out a roar as he splashed into the water. At that moment, Scar flickered to Vernost, giving him the ok to take a drink.
When Vallion hit the water, he felt refreshed. Coming back to the surface, he wading around in the shallows. He was more than happy to be in the nice refreshing water, instead of out walking in the hot sand.
Once he was refreshed, he pulled himself out of the water. His shaggy mane was sopping wet. To get back at his brother, he walked over to him and shook himself, splattering his brother with water. He walked slowly back over to the shade of the trees, plopping himself down next to Scar who was already there.

Vernost seen the little flicker of Scar's tail but still held back. The more dominant Scar had just pushed Vallion into the water and he wanted to see where this was going. Vallion looked quite annoyed when he emerged from the water. The look on his face was priceless. Shaking the lion was able to throw some drops of water onto Vernost but not enough to soak him.
He longed to dive into that water, if even for a little bit. He didn't think Scar would approve though and so held back. Getting up he went to the watering hole and lowered himself for a drink. The position made it obvious how musclular his shoulders were. Lapping at the water he felt the cool liquid run down his neck. It was the best feeling he had had in a long while.
Standing at full height now he looked at the water forlornly. Vernost reached out a paw and dipped it in the water. He moved the water around and made rippled move out from his paw. If only he could do that with his whole body. A sigh threatened to escape his lips but he just held it back for fear of gained Scar's disaproval.

Scar watched Vernost as he took his drink. He also noticed Vallion looking. He had a hard stare on the tiger. Scar knew that stare. At that moment, Scar knew Vallion had a certain dislike for Vernost. But he had no idea why.
Scar moved closer to Vallion. He leaned in close enough so Vernost could not over hear. "Vallion, is there a problem with you and Vernost?" He whispered.
Vallion, starled by Scar's sudden question. "Of course not." Vallion said. He didn't think his brother would like it if he didn't like the new 'friend' they had come upon. Vallion got up and walked over to Vernost.
"Vernost." Vallion growled. He didn't like what he was about to do, but he had to do it. "Why don't you go adn find something quick to eat. I will come with you." Vallion snarled. He lifted his giant muzzle into the air. He caught sight of a small mouse in the distant. It was scurrying around underneath some bushes. "Why don't you go and get that mouse over there." Vallion said. He hoped that Vernost would notice that it was more of an order.

Scar left his side and Vernost looked up. It seemed as though the brothers were just having a quiet conversation so he dipped his head again to take in more of the sweet water. Flicking his tail back and forth in slight amusment he blew some bubbles. They came up into his face and he let out a low chuckle. No one else would have heard it.
"Vernost." That was Vallion's voice, and it was growling. His head shot out of the water and swiveled to look at the lion. "Why don't you go and find something quick to eat. I will come with you." Vallion didn't seem to happy so Vernost hurried to do what he said not wanting to anger him anymore. A small mouse rushed out of the bushes but he didn't think it was large enough or even worth the effort of catching it. "Why don't you go and get that mouse over there." Was he serious? Vernost fought with the reflex to lift an eyebrow at his master but he knew that he must do this, or else. Or else what though? It was not his place to question. Padding after the mouse he picked up speed and locked onto it with his eyes.
Within a three feet of the mouse he gathered his hind quarters and with deft prescision launched at the little creature. His pounce came quick and unexpected so his claws easily stapped the poor things. Dropping it he lowered himself to the ground and picked it up in his maw. Padding back over to Vallion he dropped it at the lion's feet. "Rank first." Vernost said. His voice was very very deep, and it turned the ladies on fire. Unfortunately Vallion was not a she-cat and he didn't think that trick would work on him.

"Good." Vallion semi-praised. "If you see anything else, go and get it." Vallion ordered. He picked up the mouse and walked back over to Scar, who did not seem very pleased with him at this moment.
Scar shook his head at Vallion. He should have been nicer to Vernost. Scar said nothing to Vallion about it. He probably would nopt listen to him anyway. Scar got up and walked over to Vernost. His hunger knawed at his stomach. He hadden eaten anything for a while, and doubted Vernost had either.
Scar could feel Vallion's gaze burning into his back as he walked towards Vernost. Even though Vallion could sometimes be short-tempered, he always obeyed him. Which Scar liked. He didn't want Vallion to be critisizing his every decision. "Vernost, why don't we go around hunting." Scar suggested. He took a brief pause. "Together." He said loudly, emisizing it so he was sure Vallion could hear him. He looked around for something easy enough to catch, kill, and eat. And hopefully, Vernost would relax more with only him around, instead of Vallion, who was clearly more aggressive towards him.
OOC- Sorry, its only like 7 words short without the OOC part.

"Good, if you see anything else go and get it." It was half-hearted praise but Vernost took it all the same. He reveled in pleasing his superiors even if they themselves did not like him. Scanning the horizon with his large eyes he looked for a decent creature to kill. Something larger than that mouse anyway. A tiger as large as himself would be hard pressed to live off of mice.
Hearing paw pads he turned slightly to see that Scar was coming up behind him. "Vernost, why don't we go around hunting; together." The word togethor seemed like it was supposed to be a jab but he didn't understand why. Shrugging it off Vernost nodded.
"Of course." Looking he seen a small patch of shrubbery far off but still within veiw. There was bound to be something there since they trees swayed slightly. The swaying was most likely caused by primates of course. Hopefully other creatures of prey lived there too. A zebra, antelope, or something of the like would sit nicely in his stomach right about now. "How about we try those trees over there. It seems like an apt place to start." Vernost hoped that his suggestion had not been too bold and that it did not offend the lion that he spoke out. Perhaps once he worked his way upwards in their little pride he would be able to speak more friendly with the lion brothers but for now he was still a slave and had no right making any descisions what so ever.
